Speaking of good books . . .I'm a fan of James Dasher's The Maze Runner Trilogy and was thrilled when I learned that the third book in the series--THE DEATH CURE--would be released October 11.
I went out to Amazon, ready to purchase the Kindle Edition, when I noticed the price of the e-book was $10.99--a dollar more than the $9.99 I was used to paying. And the price of the Hardcover was $10.57.
Okay, I wasn't in that big a rush to read the book. And if I bought the hardcover it would be easier to share with DH, who's also a fan of the series. And then I could give it to our economically challenged library. No brainer--I bought the hardcover.
Book pricing is a very complicated process, as I learned from this indepth post by Nathan Bransford (from last May), and I don't want to complain. I support publishers and authors and I want everyone to make money and stay in business. But as Nathan said in his post about e-book versus physical book pricing:
. . . it creates a great deal of consumer confusion and angst. It doesn't make any intuitive sense for e-books to cost more than paper.

On a more sensical note, my little book for kids with a parent in jail was reviewed by Booklist! That was a pleasant surprise. (I copied the review in the "Nonfiction" tab above if you want to read it. And it's a lop eared bunny, not a dog!)
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Yay! Congrats on the review. It's clearly a bunny!
Oh my goodness! You were referred to as "Higgins" - how very grown-up and professional! Congratulations on the lovely review.
Yat-Yee: Thanks! I thought it was pretty obvious, too, but he may have been confused by the floppy ears.
Thea--I know! It makes me feel like such an expert! :)
That's great about your book! And he looks like a bunny to me too.
As for e-books...I'm on the verge, I'm threatening to get a kindle and I'd be shocked to pay the same (or more) for an e-book as a hardback.
Bish--I think you'll be happy with your Kindle. Go for it! I read somewhere (not sure if it was Bradford's article or elsewhere) that Amazon has sold e-books at a loss for years to encourage people to buy the Kindle. I have to keep reminding myself that $10 is a bargain for a new book in any format.
Great minds . . . I bought Maze Runner for my nephew, but wanted to read it before giving it to him. I started it yesterday afternoon; finished it last night. How great to find a book that's written so well you can't put it down.
Good for you, getting that review. I can think of a couple of kids who might well want to read it.
